The American Wildfire Experience

The American Wildfire Experience (AWE) is a start-up non-profit organization in support of wildland fire history, research, and education. We are dedicated to getting people to care about the value of wildland fire and to facilitate dialogue that leads to increased acceptance of beneficial fire in the environment, as well as advancement of fire management policy. We celebrate wildland firefighters and their history while advocating for increased use of wildland fire, strategic communications, and educational initiatives that lead to building resilient communities and healthy ecosystems.
